<p>🇫🇷 L’une des entrées d'honneur latérales, de style néogothique accueille les parlementaires. Le public entre par l’accès souterrain, sous la façade présentée hier.<br />
•Les trois arches en ogive : La structure s'ouvre sur un triple porche monumental soutenu par d'imposantes colonnes en pierre claire. Les arcs brisés sont ornés de moulures complexes et de sculptures en relief minutieuses.<br />
•Les armoiries sculptées : Au-dessus des arches et le long des pilastres, on distingue une série de blasons sculptés dans la pierre, des différentes régions, villes et familles nobles de la Couronne de Hongrie.<br />
•Les fenêtres à meneaux : Sur le côté droit, de grandes fenêtres rectangulaires à meneaux s'élèvent sur plusieurs niveaux. Elles sont séparées par de fines colonnettes et surmontées de balustrades ajourées typiques du gothique flamboyant.<br />
• Les balcons supérieurs arborent le drapeau tricolore de la Hongrie (rouge, blanc, vert).<br />
L'ensemble de cette façade se distingue par la finesse de sa dentelle de pierre et la verticalité de ses lignes, conçues par l'architecte Imre Steindl pour symboliser la grandeur de la nation à la fin du XIXᵉ siècle.<br />

<p> This square on the south eastern side of the city centre was once the Széna Market (Hay Market) on the edge of the old city. In earlier times the Kecskemét Gate stood on this site. The square became a notable intersection in the city and still holds that importance to this day with the meeting point of trams, buses and the Metro. In the 18th century this prominence was marked by the presence of several hotels and inns which fronted onto the market place. The gate would be removed in 1794 when the city of Pest gradually expanded beyond its mediaeval city walls. <br />

The Reformed Church has stood here since 1830 and is a notable building on the square with it’s belfry tower. <br />
<br />
The prefix Széna would be swapped for Calvin in 1874 after the French reformist John Calvin who led the Protestant Reformation in Geneva; the name would be later adapted to fit the Hungarian language. <br />

<p>Forming part of the Grand Boulevard, József Körút divides the palace district (which we are looking into) from the 8th District. The boulevard was laid out in 1896 to commemorate the first millenia of Hungary and as such is lined by many opulent buildings which are mixed residential and commercial. <br />
