It was a lavish three day event that left the town in debt for the next ten years!<br /> <br /> Today it is a popular café with outdoor seating on the raised terrace outside. <br /> I didn't realise it could be accessed from the terrace without paying the visitors fee into the 'hospital' itself so it's well worth a visit.<br /> <br /> Just visible through the far window is a very modern chandelier with what appears to be a strange and bizarre mixture of things dangling from it - perhaps kitchen items and part of the Master's private accommodation.</p> <p><a href="https://www.flickr.com/people/163363024@N04/">Banburyshire Photos</a> posted a photo:</p> <p><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/163363024@N04/55574995163/" title="The approach to Lord Leycester&#039;s Hospital, Warwick."><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55574995163_e1c0c282db_m.jpg" width="240" height="164" alt="The approach to Lord Leycester&#039;s Hospital, Warwick." /></a></p> <p>The buildings and porch on the outside of the gate were originally The Anchor Inn, long since absorbed into Lord Leycester and today is the accommodation for the brethren, elderly military personnel. <br /> Beyond the gate are the medieval Guildhalls (and public areas) which became the hospital (almshouse) when they were acquired in 1571 by Robert Dudley, then Earl of Leicester.</p> <p><a href="https://www.flickr.com/people/54358344@N05/">Bob J B</a> posted a photo:</p> <p><a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/54358344@N05/55575182805/" title="P1537799"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55575182805_94cd0f9cc8_m.jpg" width="240" height="135" alt="P1537799" /></a></p> <p>Near Longbridge.
