The vertical EMΣT exhibition banner provides the immediate identification, while the museum façade retains the massive industrial scale of the former brewery.<br /> <br /> The building has an unusually important role in Athens' modern architectural history. FIX moved its brewery to this site in 1893. In 1957 the company commissioned architects Takis Zenetos and Margaritis Apostolidis to radically modernise it; their work, completed in 1961, became one of Greece's best-known examples of post-war industrial modernism. Almost every accessible section of its white-clad façade has been covered in graffiti and tags, many windows are open or missing, and the interiors appear stripped.
