Anlässlich der Angriffe des Irans versammelten sich am Dienstag 16. April 2024 rund 120 Menschen vor der Synagoge in Saarbrücken um sich mit Israel zu solidarisieren. Aufgerufen hatten die Synagogengemeinde Saar, das Junge Forum Saar und die Deutsch-Israelische Gesellschaft Saar unter dem Motto „Hands off Israel! Gemeinsam gegen den Terror des islamischen Regimes“. Neben Ricarda Kunger, Vorsitzende der Synagogengemeinde, sprachen unter anderem Ministerpräsidentin Anke Rehlinger und Oberbürgermeister Uwe Conradt. Während letztere zu einer gemäßigten Reaktion mahnten, um keinen „Flächenbrand in der Region“ loszutreten, fanden der Sprecher des Jungen Forums und eine Rednerin der iranischen Community im Saarland deutliche Worte, die sie an die Bundesregierung, aber auch an die Landesregierung richteten. Sie forderten harte Sanktionen gegen den Iran, für den Deutschland noch immer der wichtigste Wirtschaftspartner ist. Die Regierung müsse sicherstellen, dass keine Teile aus der deutschen Wirtschaft in den Drohnen verbaut werden, mit denen der Iran Israel angreift oder die das islamistische Terrorregime an Russland verkauft, das damit Krieg gegen die Ukraine führt.</p>
