Am Samstag 13. April 2024 versammelten sich in Saarbrücken erneut pro-palästinensische Aktivist*innen um gegen Israel zu demonstrieren. Die pressefeindliche Stimmung verschärft sich zusehends von Versammlung zu Versammlung. Bereits auf der Auftaktkundgebung drohte ein Teilnehmer mit juristischen Schritten, wenn ihm „nicht gefällt“ was über die Demonstration geschrieben wird. Ein anderer kündigte im Beisein von Polizeibeamten an journalistische Arbeit über die gesamte Demo hinweg behindern zu wollen. Er verfolgte einen Fotojournalisten und hielt ihm permanent eine Flagge vor die Kamera. Bis auf mehrere Ansprachen unterband die Polizei diese Einschränkung der Pressefreiheit nicht. Stattdessen wurde der Fotograf aufgefordert aus der Entfernung zu arbeiten. Im Verlauf der Demo spitzte sich die Lage weiter zu, als weitere Teilnehmer dazukamen und ihn bedrängten. Dabei versuchte einer durch den Griff zur Kamera die Arbeit zu behindern. Eine uneingeschränkte Berichterstattung konnte von der Polizei nicht gewährleistet werden.</p>
