<p>Lough Gur Stone Circle in County Limerick is one of Ireland’s most atmospheric ancient sites, its great ring of standing stones rising proudly from the grassy landscape. Some of the stones are truly massive, towering above visitors and hinting at the extraordinary effort it took to place them here thousands of years ago.
