This is located in Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The setting is to the northwest in Shasta-Trinity National Forest. One can see Interstate 5 passing through. It was acquired by the Union Pacific Corporation in 1996 and subsequently merged into the Union Pacific Railroad operations. The Shasta Route is served today by Amtrak’s “Coast Starlight.” The modern route remains highly regarded for its spectacular scenery, including views of the Cascade mountain range and Mount Shasta. Another evergreen forest stretched off in the distance. Mount Shasta seemed to rise into the skies above. We usually stop at a rest area to the west of the mountain, where I always take a photo.
