Here are a few images that conform to Expressionist/Pictorialist optical blur radii using less than perfect optics (deliberately under-correccted) and, in some cases, soft focus filters (that can help close the gap to early effects).

I wrote a five part series on soft focus photography.

Constance de Saxe-Cobourg Gotha
Born Constanze Geiger, she was a composer (like her father, Joseph Geiger). Geiger met Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (3rd son of Prince Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha) and were together, having a son in 1860, then marrying in 1862.
After Leopold's death, Constanze moved to Paris, staying there until her death in 1890.
Mausoleum in Montmartre Cemetery

Montmartre Cemetery (Cimetière de Montmartre) opened 1825; it was originally le Cimetière des Grandes Carrières (Cemetery of the Large Quarries) as the location had previously been a gypsum quarry that had then been used as a mass grave during the French Revolution.
