<i>En 1461, Louis XI commande un précieux buste-reliquaire de sainte Marthe, réalisé par l'orfèvre André Mangot, pour la collégiale Sainte-Marthe de Tarascon. Le reliquaire est ensuite reproduit sur différents supports, jusqu'à sa disparition pendant la Révolution. Ce tableau de Claude Conche documente précisément l'œuvre disparue. L'artiste respecte les dimensions du buste original. Fait rare pour être souligné, des fragments de reliques incorporés dans la toile ont été révélés lors d'une récente radiographie.</i> (Extrait du cartel)<br />

<i>Après les événements révolutionnaires, le 19e siècle redécouvre le Moyen Âge, tout en le réinterprétant. Ce siècle, qui cultiva une rêverie romantique et connut d’importants progrès technologiques et la constitution de grandes collections, s’est inspiré du Moyen Âge en produisant des copies, des pastiches, des oeuvres composites et des faux. <p>The Musée d’Orsay is an art museum located on the south bank of the Seine, opposite the Tuileries Gardens. The building was originally the Gare d’Orsay, one of Paris’s main railway stations, built for the 1900 Universal Exposition, it served long-distance trains until 1939.<br />
<br />
The decision to convert the station into a museum was made in 1977, and the Musée d’Orsay opened in 1986.<br />

Rue Jomard on an August morning. At the left Place de Joinville and ahead the Tour de Flandre. This residential tower is built between 1969 and 1973 and designed by architect Pierre-Yves Cochin. Height is 99 meters and floor count 31. <br />

Rue Jomard is a 125 meters long street in the 19ème arrondissement in the quartier Villette. This street starts at 160, rue de Crimée and ends at Rue de Joinville. <br />
The street name refers to the French engineer-geographer and archaeologist, Edme François Jomard (1777-1862). <br />
