<p>Ridge and furrow is a landscape feature of broad, wavy, corrugated ridges and troughs, created over time by medieval or earlier ploughing techniques, such as with a horse-drawn or ox-drawn plough. Still quite clear today despite being between 500 to 1000 years old.</p>

A belvedere is an architectural structure sited to take advantage of a fine or scenic view. The Belvedere at Chatsworth affords magnificent panoramic views over the estate.<br />

The Park<br />
<br />
The 1,000-acre park was chiefly designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown between c.1760 and c.1764.<br />
<br />
Lancelot Brown and his foreman Michael Millican oversaw an extensive programme of earthmoving, drainage, levelling and tree planting in the park.<br />
<br />
His signature features of rolling green slopes and trees carefully placed singly or in clumps, particularly on hills to enclose the view, can all still be seen today.<br />
<br />
The park is enclosed by a 15-kilometre dry stone wall and is home to red and fallow deer, sheep, cattle and many wild animals.</p>

<p>Looking out over the top of Stanage Edge in the Peak District, Derbyshire, UK. Great texture in the rocks and boulders here, with lots of lovely lichens covering most of the crag. The curved road in the background just shouting to be in the composition of this one.</p>

<p>View from the top of Stanage Edge, a millstone grit crag in the Peak District in Derbyshire, UK. It's a popular challenge for rock climbers, offering lovely grippy rock and a great range of difficulties from moderate upwards. I have to say, we took a less strenuous route up ad down - not as flexible as I was in my youth. I might dig out some slide scans from the eighties and post them later; happy memories of climbing trips with a great bunch of folk.</p>

The Monsal Trail is 8.5 miles long and runs from Toply Pike south of Buxton to Bakewell. It was formally a section of the Midland Railway line which ran between Manchester and Matlock</p>

<p>New boots gave me a excuse to get out this weekend. After a few years of making the choice between wet feet or slippy soles, I now hopefully have 1 pair which keeps me dry and saves me cracking my head open on some rocks. <br />

First day out with the new Scarpa boots around the Peak District. The winds were 25-35mph gusts, and it felt like it to! This shot is two exposures. One of the Bracken at 1/6 second, and one 30 second exposure for the Sky. <br />
