Budapest Metro Line M1, the "Millennium Underground", was completed in 1896 for the Hungarian millennium. It is the oldest electrified railway in mainland Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It runs 4.4 km primarily under Andrássy út, utilizing a unique "cut-and-cover" design necessitated by the era's aesthetic restrictions on surface transport. Today, the 11-station line still employs specialized Ganz MFAV rolling stock with a low profile to navigate its shallow tunnels.

The Zsolnay-díszkút (Zsolnay Ornamental Fountain), a replica of the famous 1887 art nouveau Herkulesfürdő Fountain, was installed in József Nádor tér. It is crafted from pyrogranite, a frost-resistant ceramic developed by the Zsolnay factory that allows it to withstand outdoor weather.

A városnak te vagy a kovásza (You are the leaven of the city), a mural by Viktória Hitka in the courtyard of the Deák17 Youth Art Gallery at Deák Ferenc utca 17, was painted in 2020. It captures a scene of community and unity during a crisis, using bread-making as a metaphor for how individuals contribute to the collective "rising" or health of their city.

Built to the Art Nouveau design of Quittner Zsigmond and Vágó József, the complex was named after the 16th-century English financier Sir Thomas Gresham, the founder of the Royal Exchange in London.
Tram Line 2, inaugurated in its current riverside form in 1947, is a 6.0 km scenic route connecting Jászai Mari tér to Közvágóhíd along the Pest embankment. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage "moving sightseeing tour," it offers views of the Hungarian Parliament, Buda Castle, and the city's iconic bridges. The route utilizes specialized articulated trams with narrower profiles, a design necessity for navigating historical tunnels beneath the Chain Bridge. The Budapest tram network, established in 1866 as a horse-tramway and electrified in 1887, is one of the world’s most extensive and busiest, serving as a primary backbone for the city's transit system with 36 lines and 174 km of track.

The Ganz CSMG–2 is an eight-axle articulated tram produced by Ganz-MÁVAG between 1970 and 1975. As the series' most numerous variant with 85 original units, it was introduced to replace lower-capacity models. While several units were modernized into the KCSV–7 series in the late 1990s, the remaining CSMG–2 cars continue to serve as technical and cultural icons on the scenic Line 2.
