Not at all easy because I was using a manual focus 135mm lens and the Robin didn't exactly pose for me, although it was approachable &amp; I'd left some pistachios for it. Lucky I hadn't bought salted ones although my plan hadn't been to give them away, lol.<br /> <br /> I must have taken a couple of hundred photos just to get a dozen in focus. This Edwardian property, built in 1905, was the home and inspiration for New Zealand author Hugh Walpole. Prolific writer, he dramatised the history of Borrowdale with his six volumes of the Herries chronicles. <br /> Brackenburn was Walpole's main residence for most of his life and here he was visited by such literary giants as J B Priestley and Beatrix Potter.
