At the western edge of Île de la Cité in Paris stands the equestrian statue of Henry IV, the first monarch of the House of Bourbon. The original work, commissioned by Marie de Medici and conceived by Giambologna and Pietro Tacca, dates back to 1614 but was destroyed during the French Revolution, being melted down for weaponry in 1792. The current monument, a neoclassical recreation by François-Frédéric Lemot, was inaugurated in 1818 during the Restoration, using bronze from the statue of Napoleon from the Vendôme Column. The statue's pedestal features bas-reliefs illustrating Henry IV's triumphal entry into Paris and his charity towards the people, alluding to the pacification of the Wars of Religion and the Edict of Nantes (1598). The statue is located next to the Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in Paris, begun under Henry III and inaugurated in 1607, which became a space for sociability and a historical landmark. Surrounded by iron railings, the statue, with the Parisian landscape as a backdrop, remains a symbol of reconciliation, tolerance, and the city's rich history, linking the royal past to modernity.

Located in the north side aisle of the Church of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois in Paris, the Pietà stained glass window is a remarkable work by Charles-Laurent Maréchal, known as Maréchal de Metz, a central figure in the revival of stained glass art in the 19th century. The tripartite composition features, in the central panel, the Virgin Mary supporting the body of Christ after the descent from the cross, a devotional image intensified by the expressive use of blues and reds characteristic of the Neo-Gothic style. Angels in adoration fill the side panels, framed by elaborate architectural canopies that evoke Gothic design, integrating into the building's structure. Medallions and trefoils with plant motifs and a bust of Christ in the upper register reinforce the Christological interpretation. Technically, the stained glass combines colored glass, cut and joined by lead, with grisaille painting and silver stain to model faces, fabrics, and ornaments. The work, integrated into the set of lower stained glass windows on the north side, is a testament to the French Neo-Gothic movement and the campaigns of restoration and religious embellishment in 19th-century Paris.
