<p>Early arrivals in the D Coaches era were this pair of former SBG Leopard Y-types, which had not previously met up - BWG had been with Alexander (Midland) all its life, while YSD had been with Western SMT, then Highland. They joined the fleet in mid 1985, and stayed until early 1991, when oddly enough - given the origins of the Atlantean in the previous image - they both passed to Leicester Citybus for use as driver trainers, a role which they performed for around 3 more years. <br />

<p>one of Britain’s most widespread and familiar butterflies, thriving in a wide range of open, sunny habitats. It prefers grasslands, coastal dunes, heathlands, meadows, and even roadside verges and urban green spaces where its primary food plant, common bird’s-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus), is abundant. Males are often seen actively patrolling open areas in search of females, while both sexes bask on low vegetation and feed on nectar from various flowers.<br />
<br />
In Britain, the Common Blue is distributed throughout England, Wales, and much of southern and central Scotland. It is largely absent from northern Scotland and some high-altitude areas. The butterfly is non-migratory but does exhibit some local dispersal behavior, particularly among newly emerging populations or during favorable weather conditions. Depending on the region, it can produce one to three broods per year, with the flight period extending from May to September, peaking in mid-summer.</p>
