It lies on the estuary of the River Dwyryd in the community of Penrhyndeudraeth, 2 miles (3.2 km) from Porthmadog and 1 mile (1.6 km) from Minffordd railway station.

Portmeirion was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the Baroque style and is now owned by a charitable trust. It has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously as "the Village" in the 1960s television show The Prisoner.

Petersrockypics posted a photo:

Llyn Gwynant is a natural lake in Eryri / Snowdonia, Wales, formed by glacial action.
It is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking and photography, and was featured in the film 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life'.

Copyright status for this Photo is
CC- BY - SA - 4.0.

Credit - Petersrockypics

Thank You to anyone who faves/comments these pics.

F20260928_102204

Shoshana Rose posted a photo:

'You shot lightning from your paws,' Cashew eventually said. I braced for another of his pranks. That movie scene where the villain screams, 'Unlimited power!' For a tiny instant I did feel that power, but it scared me. Throwing lightning bolts from my paws is not something I'd like to do again.

'Your fur's standing on end too,' said Labneh.

'Ha! Yes,' Cashew pointed and laughed. 'Nothing like shooting lightning from your paws to give you a bad hair day.'

'I'll give you a bad hair day,' I grumbled as I glared at him with the pyramid and shard crackling. I was in no mood for his jokes.

I did not really mean it of course. No way would I throw lightning bolts at my siblings. But thankfully Cashew stepped back, worried I might be a little bit serious, and we turned towards Hazel and her gold box. I sensed the ghost still trapped inside; the icy tornado locked in a dark prison. I felt his rage, but also his sadness and pain, and that only made me want to step closer.

Closer. Closer. Closer. I felt so drawn. The ghost was calling to me, his voice crying in my head, yet he wasn't demanding to be set loose. I sensed him surrender to the darkness of the box. Accepting his fate.

'It's not so bad,' the box seemed to tell him. 'Just a little bit longer and the pain will be over.'

Instantly the connection broke. I stood in the woods with the vampire troop again. Hazel had placed the box on a tree stump. Every vampire gathered around it.

'How did that happen?' I said. 'Hazel, did you know the box could trap a ghost?'

'Did you know your pyramid and shard can throw lightning bolts?' Hazel retorted. 'No, I didn't know. It just happened. I felt this urge to open the box next to the ghost when you shot lightning from your paws like some kind of Sith Lord. I didn't really know why I even decided to bring it with me. I just sort of . . . did.'

'Same,' I said. 'I'm not sure why I brought my birthday presents either. I just felt I had to keep them with me.'

I stared at Bast. Of all the vampires, she was the one who told me to use my presents.

'I suggested you use your gifts,' said Bast before I opened my mouth to ask. 'As we all use our gifts.'

'And my gift just happened to allow me to shoot lighting from my paws and help Hazel trap a ghost in her box – which was also her birthday gift,' I said. I glared fiercer. 'Are you the one who sent us these gifts in the first place?'

'Why would I do that?' Bast jumped up on the tree stump next to the box. 'Yes, as I suspected, this gold box is lined with obsidian.'

'Like my pyramid,' I whispered. I held the twilight shard. 'What's this one made from? It's not obsidian, is it?'

'No, that is lapis lazuli, the celestial stone,' said Socrates. 'The stone of the sky.'

'Stop talking in riddles Socrates. Tell them like it is,' said Magenta. 'What he's trying to say is each rock and gemstone has a property, and some can effect ghosts. Lapis lazuli wards off dark spirits. To a ghost, the stone is a piece of sky driving back the darkness.'

'So it's like a light,' I said. 'But that still doesn't explain the lightning.'

'Well it kind of does, in a way, because you did shoot light from your paws. Just that light was kind of lightning-y,' said Cashew.

'And it did drive back the ghost and stuff him inside Hazel's gold box,' said Labneh.

'Okay,' I muttered. 'So what about black obsidian?'

'Obsidian is the mirror stone. It reveals all,' Bast explained. 'For a ghost, obsidian is like a corpse to a jackal or a gazelle to a lion.'

'Or blood to a vampire,' Cashew interrupted. 'I think we get the metaphor. Obsidian is like a magnet for ghosts.'

'Yes, a magnet is perfect. Like the dust trapped in the cone of a whirlpool of water,' said Socrates. 'Obsidian reflects the spirit, and that reflection draws in a ghost and traps them.'

'Or paralyses them long enough for us to strike,' said Julia Flavia with her obsidian sword in hand.

'So different rocks and crystals effect ghosts in different ways,' I wondered if some crystals might help the ghosts, but I had a feeling the vampires were not going to share that one. 'So what about you? How does obsidian effect a vampire?'

I held the pyramid out towards Socrates. Each facet reflected the trees around us and my face and my sibling companions, but the vampires were not there.

'That's weird,' I said. I moved the pyramid closer to each vampire in turn.

'And it defies the laws of physics. How can a solid object not have a reflection?' said Labneh.

'That's obsidian for you,' said Zesiro. 'It's not like the silver mirror that reflects all. Obsidian reflects the true spirit.'

'Oh,' I said, understanding. 'And vampires have no spirit.'

'Because we have no spirit, we have no reflection,' said Magenta.

Snuggles from Juniper, Cashew, Pistachio, Acorn, Campion, Shishky and Shishka.
