No location (North end of Ludlow Tunnel - thanks to Kenneth) and unfortunately on Six Bells there are two steam tours around the Welsh Borders/Marches that day so can't be specific. We now think thanks to Kenneth it was the LCGB Welsh Borderer.<br /> The coach was new from York Works to the LNER in 1937 and withdrawn in 1976. I hardly expected to be lucky enough to bag just a shot or two (not great at waking up early), but I found myself jumping from town to town on north for a while longer than I thought. At Ludlow, the IC quartet has its manifest well underway on its trek up north, passing by the sizable grain elevator and silos that are Ludlow's most defining feature. One could argue, perhaps, that the local signage is equally as defining, however.<br /> <br /> Time is passing oh-so-fast lately. I need some new wheels and some free time with a fully-charged camera again. It's been too long. Well, I'll get back in the saddle eventually, I'm sure. In good time, anyway.
