<p>With 26 acres of lush tropical plants and some 1,600 animals, the Gladys Porter Zoo is a zoological and botanical park nestled in the center of Brownsville, Texas. It is known for its successes in breeding endangered species of wildlife. <br />
<br />
Of all the zoos I have visited, I found this zoo the best as far as being able to view the animals, birds and such without having to look through wire mesh and the like. <br />
<br />

I thought this was a Gerenuk sharing the enclosure with the giraffes in the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville. Texas. May 2021. <br />
