Schwimmer, a renowned paleontologist and an expert on this species, author of &quot;King of the Crocodylians&quot; (2002). <br /> <br /> <i>Deinouschus</i> was a giant crocodylian that lived during the Late Cretaceous, 82- 73 MYA, in North America.<br /> This is <i>Deinosuchus hatcheri</i>, one of the two western species, which grows to a length of 10-12 meters (as long as a school bus) and weighs 5.0-8.5 metric tons.
