The majestic summit of Mount Shasta stood tall, its peak seemingly bathed in the golden glow of the morning sunlight. An evergreen forest stretched off in the distance from one ridge and hillside to the next. Mount Shasta seemed to rise into the skies above. We usually stop at a rest area to the west of the mountain, where I always take a photo.
