Angelina’s version features pâte feuilletée caramélisée (caramelized puff pastry) layered with a crème légère à la vanille (light vanilla cream).<br /> <br /> Angelina, at 226 Rue de Rivoli, is a historic Parisian tea house founded in 1903 by Austrian confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer, who named it after his daughter-in-law. It quickly became a favorite of Coco Chanel and Marcel Proust, celebrated for its Belle Époque interior by Édouard-Jean Niermans. Its signature offerings—the famously rich “L’Africain” hot chocolate and the Mont Blanc pastry—have become Parisian icons. Enabling the kinds of software interventions the Sigma and other modern lenses require on the Takumar shows me just how good Old Lenses can be.
