<p>"Turbostar" 170393 gets away from a station stop at Stow and resumes the climb to Falahill summit, before the long drop into Edinburgh with 2T71, the 10:20 from Tweedbank. This is, of course, on the rejuvenated section of the famous "Waverley Route". Saturday 20th July 2024.</p>

<p>G-RMBH, Leonardo AW109S Trekker (CN 22733) of operated by Atlas Helicopters Ltd, departs the Cardrona MacDonald Hotel having returned some guests from a day out at the final of the Open Golf Championship at Troon (won by Victor Schauffele in 2024). Although based down south, this 2019 machine is a regular visitor to Scotland.<br />
<br />
Some of the twenty new 'executive' homes under construction in a tiny plot beside a main road visible behind. Handy for the golf course though.</p>

<p>This is the Gameshope Burn which feeds into Talla Reservoir near Tweedsmuir in the Scottish Borders. I've been coming to this location for more than 40 years. In the beginning I could travel from Tweedsmuir through the hills to St. Mary's Loch and hardly see another person. Nowadays because of the internet, the world and his wife know about it and there are "wild campers" at various locations. In my day to be considered a wild camper you had to carry your tent in your rucksack and walk to a location not simply park your car and pitch your tent. That's my moan for the day. My wife says I'm turning into Victor Meldrew. She's probably right.</p>

<p>On the way home after taking the previous image I stopped to take this scene. Thunder clouds had just passed over and I liked the contrast between the sunny foreground with the Ox Eye Daisies and the dark background.</p>
