<p>Passing freights at Maes Glas on 8th May 1987. Class 37 number 37220 heads an up coal train formed of HEA hopper wagons whilst class 47 number 47110 is working a down train of empty oil tank wagons.</p>

<p>We sat and watched the magical creatures of Penglais slide up and down the sunbeams. I wondered what other creatures were floating with them. Lots of sunbeams hovered over the ocean, and for a moment I thought I saw a seagull circle up and round and then disappear in a streak of light.<br />
<br />
'Wow,' said Seitan. 'That does look pretty. So how are we supposed to shine like stars?'<br />
<br />
Just then the sun emerged from behind a cloud, casting that same glorious golden light across the grass towards us. <br />
<br />
'The sun's making my fur glow,' Cumin giggled.<br />
<br />
'And the tip of your tail, Pistachio,' said Cashew.<br />
<br />
I wondered if that's what the robin meant. Could we just stand in the sun and wait for our fur to light up? Cumin's fur was glowing a little bit like a star.<br />
<br />
But the robin told us we had an adventure, and the forest awaited us. There was something else in the air too. Something I couldn't quite place. The magical creatures looked like they were having lots of fun racing each other up and down the slides. Only the clouds seemed to thicken as they edged ever closer. It made my fur stand on end. I could taste the crackled zing on the tip of my tongue. <br />
<br />
'Watch for the cumulonimbus fairies,' said a voice from the trees. 'All the magical creatures of Penglais have challenged them to a tournament.'<br />
<br />
I turned, and there was a squirrel scampering along a branch. It stopped, sniffed the air, and then scampered under the tall grasses. <br />
<br />
'Are you in the tournament too?' I asked. 'Who is winning?'<br />
<br />
'I'm up next,' said the squirrel. 'So far it's a draw. But if I lose this next race, the cumulonimbus fairies will make it rain.'<br />
<br />
'And if you win?' I asked.<br />
<br />
The squirrel twitched his whiskers. 'Then there will be sunshine until evening.'<br />
<br />
The squirrel dashed towards the rose bush at the entryway. <br />
<br />
'Wait,' I called after him. 'What happens if there's a draw? Can you tell us how to shine like stars?'<br />
<br />
'If there's a draw, there will be a mix of rain and sun,' said the squirrel.<br />
<br />
'And shining like stars?' I asked again. <br />
<br />
'There's a whole galaxy here,' the squirrel replied with a curl of his tail. 'Go into the forest and see for yourselves.'<br />
